Note: The trailer towing specifications are specified in Section 27.

If you are transporting cargo in the passenger compartment, secure it securely, for example with seat belts. Place the largest and heaviest objects as low and as close to the center of the vehicle as possible. Transport small pets in special bags, also secured. Do not place heavy objects on the rear shelf. In the event of an accident, maneuvering or braking, they can cause injury. In addition, friction of the load against the rear and side windows can cause damage to the antennas and heating element.

In category N1 vehicles that do not have a protective grille, a special lashing kit that complies with EN 12195 (1-4) must be used to secure the load.

Cargo transportation on the roof

When transporting cargo on the roof of a vehicle, the change in the center of gravity changes the vehicle's behavior on the road and its controllability, and fuel consumption increases. When loading the roof rack, distribute the load evenly, placing heavy objects at the bottom and in front. Also make sure that the load is securely fastened. Check that the load is secured and that the roof rack/cross bars are securely tightened before you start your trip, after the first 50 km of travel, and then every 1000 km of travel. Remove the roof rack before going through an automatic car wash, and also if you don't need it (to save fuel and reduce noise).

Please follow the instructions in Specifications requirements for maximum roof load and maximum permissible vehicle weight.

During the development of the car, its roof was given an optimal aerodynamic shape. All models are equipped with longitudinal rails, on which various roof racks from the Skoda range can be installed. The mounting holes are located on the inside of the longitudinal rails. Please strictly follow all instructions in the enclosed roof rack installation manual. When placing cargo, make sure that it does not interfere with opening the tailgate or the top hatch cover.
