2. To remove the tailgate pillar, open the tailgate and prop it up. Then lift the locking element with a screwdriver (2 in the illustration) and pull the rack (1) off the hinge (3).

Note: If the rack is to be reused, do not remove the pin from the hinge completely, otherwise it will be damaged. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.




3. To remove the tailgate, remove its inner trim parts (see Part B), disconnect the connectors and pull the electrical wiring out of the door. Then remove the tailgate pillars (see paragraph 2), ask an assistant to hold it and remove the bolts (1 in the illustration) fastening of hinges. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Take steps to prevent corrosion from developing between the hinge and the tailgate. Make sure to maintain the clearances (see Specifications). Adjust the stop buffer and check the opening and closing of the door.

4. The details of unlocking/locking the tailgate are shown in the illustration. To remove the release switch, remove the lower tailgate trim (see Part B), disconnect the connector (4), loosen the nuts (5) and remove the part (6). To remove the lock, also remove the lower trim of the tailgate, disconnect the connector of the lock and unscrew the bolts (7). The tailgate should be flush with the body.
