It is not allowed to move with loosely closed doors. To warn the driver of open doors/luggage compartments, the instrument cluster with segment display has a corresponding warning lamp that comes on if at least one door is open or not properly closed when the ignition is switched on. These warning lamps also come on for a few seconds each time the ignition is turned on to check for proper operation. If the door/luggage compartment is opened while driving, an audible signal will come on together with the warning lamp. On models with a graphic display in the instrument cluster, instead of the indicated indicator lamps, the display shows a schematic representation of the vehicle with the doors, luggage compartment or hood open. If the doors/luggage compartment/bonnet are opened at speeds over 6 km/h, an additional chime will sound.
In the event of a single lock malfunction or a discharged battery, the driver's door can be unlocked/locked with a metal key (see illustration 1.3). The remaining doors can then be opened by pulling on their inner release handles.
In order to lock the car with a faulty single lock, first of all, you should lock the passenger doors one at a time. To do this, open the corresponding passenger door, remove the rubber plug from its end (And in illustration 2.1) with a lock symbol, insert into the opened slot (IN) metal key and turn it to the horizontal position (arrow). Replace the plug, slam the door and make sure it is locked. After locking the passenger doors and tailgate, close the driver's door and turn the metal key in its lock. Now, to unlock the passenger doors, unlock the driver's door and pull the inside release handles on the passenger doors. If the additional blocking of the rear door locks is enabled (see below), pull the inside handle first, and then open the door from the outside.
2.1 Locking the right passenger door
Tailgate/trunk lid (superb models)
On Superb models, you can either open the trunk lid or the entire tailgate.
You can open the luggage compartment after unlocking a single lock (see section 1) or just the luggage compartment. Only the luggage compartment can be unlocked briefly (0.5 seconds) by pressing a button (3 in illustration 1.1) on the key fob.
To open the trunk lid only, press the handle on the underside of the trunk lid, the trunk lid will automatically open (see illustration 2.2a). You can also open the trunk lid by holding the button (3 in illustration 1.1) on the key fob for 1 second.
Note: The automatic opening of the luggage compartment lid is adversely affected by temperatures below +4°C.
To open the entire tailgate, press the handle (1 in illustration 2.2b) on the lower edge of the luggage compartment lid, wait until the upper brake light (2) blink twice (in this case, the mechanisms of the loops are switched), press the handle (3) and at the same time lift the tailgate.
2.2b Opening the tailgate (superb models)
To close the trunk lid/tailgate, lower it and close it with light pressure. To simplify the closing of the luggage compartment lid / tailgate, there is a special handle on its inner surface.
If the car was locked before opening the luggage compartment, after closing the luggage compartment is automatically locked within one second and the anti-theft alarm is activated. When driving is started, as soon as the speed exceeds 5 km/h, the function of the handle on the lower edge of the luggage compartment lid is deactivated. After stopping the car and after opening the front door or after pressing the single lock release button on the key fob, the operation of the handle resumes.
Comment. If the luggage compartment is repeatedly opened and closed, this function may be temporarily disabled in order to protect the e/motors from overheating.
2 seconds after the tailgate is closed, the hinge mechanisms switch to the position to open the tailgate only.
If a single lock fails, the luggage compartment lid can be opened as follows. Fold back the rear seat (see Section 9), from the inside, insert the key into the slot in the upholstery until it stops (see illustration 2.2c) and turn it in the direction of the arrow. After that, you can open the luggage compartment lid.
2.2s Emergency release of the tailgate (superb models)
Tailgate (superb combi models)
You can open the luggage compartment after unlocking a single lock (see section 1) or just the luggage compartment. Only the luggage compartment can be unlocked briefly (0.5 seconds) by pressing a button (3 in illustration 1.1) on the key fob. To open, press the handle above the license plate and at the same time lift the door (see illustration 2.3).
2.3a Opening the tailgate (superb combi models)
To close the tailgate, lower it and close it with light pressure. To simplify the closing of the tailgate, there is a special handle on its inner surface.
If the car was locked before opening the luggage compartment, after closing the luggage compartment is automatically locked within one second and the anti-theft alarm is activated. With the start of the movement, as soon as the speed exceeds 5 km / h, the function of the handle above the license plate is disabled. After stopping the car and after opening one of the doors, the operation of the handle resumes.
If a single lock malfunctions, you can open the tailgate as follows. Fold back the rear seat (see Section 9), from the inside, insert a screwdriver or other similar tool into the hole in the trim as far as it will go in the direction of the arrow (1 in illustration 2.3b), and unlock the door by moving in the direction of the arrow (2) up. After that, you can open the tailgate.
2.3b Emergency release of the tailgate (superb combi models)
Tailgate with electric drive (superb combi models)
Caution: When opening the tailgate, do not stand in the movement area of the tailgate - risk of accident! In a critical situation, the moving cover can be stopped by a short sharp movement in the direction opposite to its movement.
Attention: Before opening or closing the tailgate, make sure that there are no objects in the movement area of the tailgate that could interfere with the opening / closing of the door (e.g. cargo on the roof rack or on a trailer, etc.), otherwise the tailgate or cargo may be damaged. For the same reason, make sure that there is at least 10 cm of free space above the open tailgate (e.g. up to the garage ceiling), because after unloading the vehicle, its height may increase.
There are several possibilities for using the electric tailgate:
- by holding the trunk release button on the key fob for 1 second (except when the ignition is on or the trailer wiring is connected);
- with a pen (And in illustration 2.4a) above license plate (only if the car is unlocked);
- via key (IN) on the lower edge of the tailgate (available only when the door is open);
- using the key in the cabin, next to the transmission control lever (unless the vehicle is locked from the outside or the trailer wiring is connected).
When the tailgate is moved, the system distinguishes 3 zones (see illustration 2.4b), in which the functions of the individual drive elements differ. Also distinguish the extreme positions of the cover - completely closed (in a locked castle) and completely open. The table below shows the algorithm of the operation of the e / drive for various control options ("+" - doable "-" - impossible, "/" - change of direction).
2.4a Opening and closing the tailgate with electric drive (superb combi models)
2.4b Power tailgate opening zones (superb combi models)
If the tailgate is opened by the electric drive after pressing a button on the key fob or a button in the passenger compartment, a continuous sound signal sounds while the door is moving.
If the door is loaded (e.g. a thick layer of snow), under some conditions the opening process may be stopped. To ensure the operation of the e / door drive, unload it.
Opening and closing the tailgate manually is possible only in exceptional cases, while the movement must be slow and smooth, and the force must be applied as close as possible to the middle of the door; closing or opening the door from the side, you can damage its e / drive. The electric tailgate has a force limiting function. If the door encounters an obstacle when closing, it stops and a single constant tone sounds. If the entire vehicle is pushed while opening or closing the tailgate due to getting into the vehicle too quickly, the tailgate may stop as a result of force limiting operation.
Adjusting the upper position of the tailgate
To open the lid in confined spaces (e.g. in the garage) or for ease of use (for example, taking into account the height of a person) You can set the uppermost position of the tailgate.
Comment. The tailgate always rises to the mark that was last stored in the memory of the control unit.
To set the top position of the door, stop the door at the desired position (by means of e/drive or manually), and then press the internal button on the tailgate and keep it pressed for about 3 seconds - the storage of the position in the memory will be confirmed by 3 times an increasing tone.
To delete a configured door position, gently raise it manually to the maximum height and hold the internal key on the door pressed for about 3 seconds, an audible signal will sound, the previously adjusted height value will be deleted from the memory, and the maximum height will be set to the base value again.
Comment. The upper position that the door reaches when opening automatically is always less than the maximum possible height that can be reached when opening manually.
Violation of work of an e/drive of a door of a back
A malfunction of the e / drive of the tailgate is indicated by three beeps of the same tone.
If the battery was disconnected and reconnected when the tailgate was open, the e/drive system must be activated (initialize control unit), to close the tailgate manually. As a result, the closed position in the locked lock will be stored as the end position of the door.
If necessary, the tailgate with electric drive can be unlocked from the inside in the same way as the tailgate without electric drive (see relevant subsection above).
Additional blocking of locks of rear doors
The rear doors are provided with an additional blocking of the locks, designed to prevent them from opening by children in the passenger compartment. To prevent the door from being opened from the inside, open it, turn the auxiliary lock with a metal key, turning it towards the center of the car (see illustration 2.5) and close the door. Now the door can only be opened from the outside. To open the door from the inside again, open it from the outside and turn the secondary lock to its original position. Do not leave children or people with disabilities in the car with the rear doors locked, because. children may not be able to get out of it on their own if necessary (e.g. when the interior is overheated in summer or when the interior is cold in winter).
