Warning! Hot steam may leak out when opening the expansion tank. Carefully open the tank lid, covering it with a cloth first.
1. Carefully open the coolant expansion tank cap.
2. Remove sound insulation.
3. Place a catch basin under the engine, e.g. "V.A.G. 1306".
4. Unscrew the threaded drain plug on the radiator and, if necessary, put an auxiliary hose on the neck.
