Warning: Wait until the engine has completely cooled down before starting this procedure. Do not allow antifreeze to come into contact with your skin or painted vehicle surfaces. If this does happen, rinse off the antifreeze immediately with plenty of water.
6. Remove the expansion tank filler cap as described above, then move the heater air temperature control lever to the maximum temperature position.
7. Remove the engine bottom shield (Chapter 1, paragraph 8) and place a large pallet under the front of the vehicle. Unscrew the drain plug, which is located on the reverse side of the metal pipe connecting the lower radiator hose to the water pump, and drain the coolant into a substituted container (photo).
