Seat belt system
Adjust the seat and head restraint to the correct position before fastening the seat belt.
Holding the strap by the tongue, move it slowly across your chest and pelvis.
Insert the belt tongue into the buckle next to the seat in question until it clicks into place.
While pulling the belt, check if the belt is securely in the buckle.
Each 3-point seat belt has an automatic retractor Automatic seat belts provide complete freedom of movement when slowly retracted. In case of sudden braking, the movement of the belts is automatically blocked by the retraction mechanism. The movement of the belts is also blocked when accelerating the car, when driving downhill and when cornering.
Attention.
- The shoulder part of the belt should in no case pass through the neck, but approximately through the middle of the shoulder, and should tightly fit the upper body. The waistband of the harness should be carried across the hips of the body, not across the stomach, and should always be snug around the body. Adjust the position of the belt if necessary.
- In a pregnant woman, the waist belt should fit around the hip area of her body as low as possible in order to prevent the belt from pressing on the lower abdomen.
- Track correct passage of seat belts. Improperly routed seat belts can cause injury even in minor accidents.
- A seat belt that is too loose can cause injuries, as the body moves further forward due to kinetic energy during an accident and is only then suddenly caught by the belt.
- Insert the tongue only into the buckle of the seat belt that belongs to this seat. Otherwise, the protective effect of the belt is limited and the risk of injury increases.
Adjusting the height of the belts on the front seats
Height adjustment allows you to adapt the passage of the front seat belts with three-point fastening on the shoulder area to the height and body size of the front seat driver and passenger.
Slide the seat belt attachment point up or down in the required direction by pressing the top belt attachment loop.
After adjusting the height, check with a short jerk that the upper belt anchor is securely in the locked position.
Attention. Adjust the height of the belt so that the shoulder part of the belt passes approximately through the middle of the shoulder, and in no case through the neck.
Note. The height of the seat belt in the front seats can also be adjusted by adjusting the height of the seat base.
