5. Using the hand pump on the testing device, create an excess pressure of 0.1 MPa (1.0 bar).

Attention.
  • Risk of burns
  • Before disconnecting the cooling system tester "VAG 1274 B" from the connecting hose or the connecting element "VAG 1274 B/1", it is absolutely necessary to reduce the pressure.
  • To do this, press the relief valve on the cooling system testing device "VAG 1274 B" and hold it pressed until the pressure gauge shows the value "0".

To do this, press the relief valve on the cooling…

If the pressure value drops

6. Find the leaky area and fix the problem.

Checking the safety valve in the cover

1. Screw the cap into the adapter for the cooling system tester "V.A.G 1274/9", as shown in the figure below.

2. Connect the connecting element "VAG 1274 B/1" to the adapter of the device for testing the cooling system "V.A.G 1274/9", as shown in the figure below.

3. Connect the connecting element "VAG 1274 B/1" with the supplied connecting hose to the cooling system testing device "VAG 1274 B".

4. Pump with a hand pump If there is excess pressure of 0.14...0.16 MPa (1.4...1.6 bar) the safety valve should open.

The safety valve opens too early or too late

5. Replace the plug.
