12.16 Removable light/lamp in the luggage compartment
Note: Keep the light away from moisture. If the light is not inserted into the holder correctly, it will not light up when the luggage compartment is opened and the batteries will not charge.
To increase the volume of the luggage compartment, the backrests and/or cushions of the rear seats can be folded separately (see Section 9). In some trim levels, the back of the rear seats is equipped with a hatch (see illustration 12.17a), in which you can install a bag for transporting skis. The hatch cover can be opened from the passenger compartment (after folding down the central rear armrest, pull the handle up and lower the cover down), and from the luggage compartment (move button (A) down and fold the cover forward together with the armrest). After closing the hatch, make sure that its cover is securely fastened: the red field above button (A) should not be visible. The removable bag is designed to carry up to four pairs of skis with a total weight of up to 17 kg. To load the skis, open the hatch (see above) and place the empty bag in the space between the front and rear seats so that the end with the zipper lies in the luggage compartment. Then place the skis in the bag with the front ends back and close it with the zipper. To secure the skis, tighten the strap (And in illustration 12.17b) by the free end around the skis in front of the ski bindings, tilt the seat back slightly forward and pass the fastening strap (B) through the hatch in the seat back around the top of the back. Then tilt the seat back back until the locking button clicks into place, check that the back is locked (try to pull it forward) and insert the fastening strap (B) into the buckle (C) until it clicks. In vehicles equipped with a partition net, guide the fastening strap (B) past the housing of the rolled-up partition net (once the dividing mesh is secured, it is impossible to unwind it). After using the bag, it should be dried.

The side trim of the luggage compartment may contain: 12-volt socket (see illustration 12.18), removable light (see above), luggage hooks and storage compartments. The right storage compartment can accommodate a CD changer, TV, first aid kit and warning triangle, while the left storage compartment on Superb models can accommodate an extra battery. On Superb models, the storage compartments are covered by lids that can be removed by turning the latches (see illustration 12.19a). On Superb Combi models the right storage compartment is covered by a lid (see illustration 12.19b), and the left one is open. If necessary, the wall of the left storage compartment can be removed by pulling it up (see illustration 12.19c). On some models, the warning triangle is stored in the luggage compartment sill trim (see illustration 12.19d).

For luggage hooks (see illustration 12.20a) can be used to attach slings or luggage nets (see illustrations 12.20b-c). The luggage nets are stored in the side storage compartments. The maximum permissible load for the side nets is 1.5 kg. Top hooks (And in the illustration 12.20c) are intended only for attaching luggage nets. Folding hooks (see illustration 12.20d) for bags, etc. weighing up to 7.5 kg are located on both walls of the luggage compartment.

There is a loop (Superb) or hook on the luggage compartment floor covering (Superb Combi), which, when the floor covering is raised, (for example, when changing a wheel) can be attached to a hook on the luggage compartment shelf (Superb) or to the tailgate frame (Superb Combi), - see illustration 12.21.
12.21 Securing the raised floor covering
Depending on the configuration, a spare wheel, on-board tool kit or tire repair kit can be stored under the floor (see Introduction).
In the luggage stack (see illustration 12.22) superb models can transport light objects with a total weight of up to 1.5 kg.

The luggage compartment is closed from above either by a shelf (on Superb models), or a curtain (on Superb Combi models). Do not allow luggage to rub against the rear window or rear side windows, otherwise the antennas and/or rear window heating elements may be damaged (behind the headrests) only light soft objects can be placed on it. The shelf is raised/lowered together with the entire tailgate. If it is necessary to transport high luggage, the shelf can be removed. To do this, detach the fasteners (1 in illustration 12.23), set the shelf to a horizontal position and remove it from the mount (2) horizontally backwards. The removed shelf can be stored behind the back of the rear seat. To unroll the luggage compartment curtain, pull it all the way to the fixed position (2 in illustration 12.24). To roll up the curtain, press it in the area of the handle in the direction of the arrow (3) - the curtain will automatically roll up to position (1). When pressed again, the curtain will roll up completely. To remove the curtain completely, press the side of the crossbar in the direction of the arrow (4) and remove the curtain by moving it in the direction of the arrow (5).

Note: Do not place any objects on the curtain.
Some trim levels are equipped with an electric roller blind that automatically retracts to position (1) when the tailgate is opened. If the tailgate is opened abruptly, the automatic retraction is blocked for approximately 2 seconds. The automatic retraction function can be switched on/off via the "Settings→Automatic roller blind" menu on the instrument cluster display. The variable luggage compartment floor makes it easier to handle bulky luggage. The maximum load on the variable floor is 75 kg. On Combi models, part of the variable floor can be pulled out over the rear bumper and used solely as a seat (for example, to change shoes). When the variable floor is extended, its front edge is lifted at the same time, so small objects can fall into the space between the body and the variable floor. In addition, on Combi models, the variable floor is supplied with a luggage carrier/luggage compartment divider kit and sliding lashing eyes. If necessary, the variable floor can be removed. To do this, unlock it by turning the locking eyes (And in illustration 12.25a) to the left by approximately 90°, fold the floor in the direction of the arrow and remove it. If necessary, unlock the guides (B) by turning the insertable fastening eyes (C) to the right by approximately 90°. The luggage compartment can be divided into sections using the transformable floor. To do this, lift the section with the fastening and secure it by inserting it into the grooves (see illustration 12.25b).

12.25b Separation of the luggage compartment using a transformable floor (using the Superb model as an example)
On Combi models, a partition net can be installed behind the rear or front seats.
