2. Remove the air cleaner cover mounting bolts (1 on the accompanying illustration), fold it aside and cover the air cleaner to prevent dirt from getting into it. On models with a synthetic soft cover (2), remove it from the battery upwards. Unscrew the bolt (4), remove the holder (3) and pull out the battery.

3. If necessary, unscrew the bolts (see accompanying illustration) and remove the battery holder.

4. Installation is performed in the reverse order. The battery is installed correctly if the middle cutout on its lower flange is opposite the hole in the holder (see accompanying illustration). Tighten the battery holder mounting bolts to 9 Nm and the battery mounting bolt to 22 Nm.
