2. Remove the air cleaner (see Chapter 4).
3. Remove the protective cover (see accompanying illustration).

4. Give the nut (3 on the accompanying illustration) and disconnect the positive wire from the starter. Disconnect the connector (2), loosen the nut (1) and loosen the ground wire.

5. Remove the upper starter mounting bolt (see accompanying illustration).

6. On models with manual transmission, remove the sound insulation, remove the nut (1 on the accompanying illustration) and put aside the holder (2) together with the wiring.

7. Remove the lower bolt (see accompanying illustration) and remove the starter.
