Location of engine number stamped on the crankcase

One of the engines installed alternatively on Skoda cars of the Octavia series is the 1.9 TDI engine (turbodiesel) 66 kW. This engine is a diesel, turbocharged, in-line, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder, with ONS valve timing mechanism (Over Head Camshaft) and direct fuel injection. The engine is located in the front of the car, transversely, in front of the front axle with a rearward slope. The intake manifold and exhaust manifold are located on the rear side of the cylinder head (in the direction of travel). A turbocharger is installed between the manifold and the exhaust pipe.
Engine number (engine code and engine serial number) is given in front of the gap separating the engine and gearbox. This number is also on the sticker on the toothed belt cover, as well as the engine code and the vehicle data plate.
