Bringing the rear suspension to the shock absorber rebound position corresponding to the curb weight
All bolts of parts with silent blocks must be finally tightened when installing the suspension in a position corresponding to the vehicle's curb weight (the car is not loaded).
Curb weight of the vehicle
Weight of the vehicle ready for operation (with a full fuel tank, windshield/headlight washer reservoirs, spare wheel, tool kit, jack, but without a driver). The spare wheel, tool kit and jack must be in the places provided by the manufacturer (silent blocks) have a limited working range of twisting. Therefore, the suspension must take a position corresponding to the curb weight of the car (the car is not loaded). Otherwise, internal stresses will occur in the silent block, which will reduce the service life of this part. The working position of the suspension can be simulated on a lift, raising the suspension with a jack for engines and transmission units, for example, "VAG 1383A", and a support "T10149". Before starting work, measure, for example, with a tape measure, the dimension "a" from the middle of the wheel hub to the lower edge of the wing.

The measurement must be carried out on a vehicle with a curb weight (the car is not loaded). Record the obtained value "a". It will be necessary for the final tightening of the bolts and nuts. Before lifting the suspension of the corresponding wheel, it is necessary to secure the car with the help of belts "T10038" on the console levers of the lift.

Caution! Otherwise it may slip off the lift.
Remove the wheel. Turn the hub so that one of the holes for the wheel bolt is at the top. Screw the support mount "T10149" with the wheel bolt to the hub. Raise the hub with a jack for engines and transmission units, for example "VAG 1383A", until dimension "a" is reached.

The final tightening of the corresponding bolts/nuts of the suspension parts should be carried out only after the dimension "a" measured before starting work between the center of the wheel hub and the lower edge of the wing has been reached.
Attention! It is prohibited to raise or lower the car when the engine and transmission jack is under the car. Do not leave the engine and transmission jack "VAG 1383A" under the car longer than necessary.
Tighten the appropriate bolts/nuts to the specified torque. Lower the wheel bearing housing. Remove the engine and transmission jack from under the vehicle. Remove the support mount "T10149". Remove the belt "T10038".
