Removal and installation of axles with attachments — vehicles with all-wheel drive (Skoda Octavia 5E)

Release the handbrake. Remove the armrest. Loosen the adjusting nut "3" and disconnect the parking brake cable "1" from the equalizer "2". Raise the car and remove the wheels. Disconnect the speed sensor connectors "1" on both sides. Disconnect the speed sensor wire "arrow" from the transverse arm.

Cars with ground clearance sensor "G76"

Disconnect connector "1". Unscrew screws "2". Remove ground clearance sensor "G76" "3" from the transverse arm.

Remove the coil springs. Unscrew the nut "1" on both sides and remove the bolt "2".

Remove spring clamps "1" from both sides of the car. Release the brake pipes from the holders.

Note: Do not disconnect the brake line.

Release the spring bushing "1" of the parking brake cable from the holder on the brake caliper. Press the lever on the brake caliper "2" in the "direction of the arrow" and disconnect the parking brake cable "3".

Release the parking brake cable from the lock "1" and remove it from the guide tube. Remove the brake caliper and secure it with wire so that its weight does not load or damage the brake hose. Disconnect the rear axle drive shaft from the rear final drive. Remove the rear muffler.

Tighten the car to the lift using the T10038 tie-down straps.

Fix the subframe position. Before removing, mark the support position. Unscrew the "arrow" bolts. Carefully lower the subframe no more than 20 mm. Disconnect the connector for the Haldex coupling. Carefully lower the subframe another 30 mm.
