Note: In case of complaint, it is necessary to know the functions and operation of the multifunction steering wheel.
The multifunctional steering wheel includes (depending on the configuration) the following units: multifunctional buttons on the left side "E440" and on the right side -E441 - for controlling the infotainment system; tiptronic upshift switch "E438" and downshift switch "E439" for controlling the dual clutch transmission in Tiptronic mode; multifunction steering wheel control unit "J453" is integrated into the left front switch block.
Removal and installation push-button modules for controlling the Infotainment system
The installation work for both push-button modules is identical. Remove the airbag module in the steering wheel. Remove the panel with push-button modules "2" from the steering wheel "1", evenly and carefully prying it with the wedge "arrows".

Unscrew screws "3". When removing modules "1" and "2", carefully release the connecting cable from the "arrow" support. Cars with automatic transmission with steering wheel controls - disconnect the push-button module connectors.

Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Correctly lay the connecting cable of the modules in the guide in the "arrow" panel. Before installing the airbag module, check whether all wires are correctly laid in the guide grooves in the steering wheel foam parts. Protruding wires can be damaged by the airbag module parts located on the back. Follow the order of work when connecting the battery. After replacing the push-button modules, perform coding using the Tester.
Removal and installation push-button control modules of the gearbox in Tiptronic mode (KP 02E, 0AM-DSG)
The installation sequence for both switch modules is identical. Remove the airbag module in the steering wheel. Remove the panel with the pushbutton modules "2" from the steering wheel "1" by evenly and carefully prying it with the wedge "arrow". Disconnect the connector. Unscrew the screw "arrow A" (1.7 Nm), tilt and remove the pushbutton module for controlling the gearbox "1" "arrow B".

Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Before installing the airbag module, check that all wires are correctly positioned in the guide grooves in the steering wheel foam parts. Protruding wires may be damaged by the airbag module parts located on the back. Follow the correct order when connecting the battery.
