Note.
- When removing the rear suspension beam assembly, the right side silent block mounting bracket must be removed with the beam.
- After replacing the silent blocks of the rear beam, it is necessary to check the installation of the rear wheels and, if necessary, adjust them.
Removing
1. Release the parking brake fully.
2. Remove armrest assembly (see the relevant section in chapter Body).
3. Press the brake pedal and install a special tool to lock the brake pedal in this position.
4. Loosen the adjusting nut (3) and disconnect the parking brake cables (1) from the equalizer (2), as shown in the figure below.
5. Remove rear wheels.
6. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the holders (arrow B), as shown in the figure below.
7. Push the parking brake cable (2) in the direction of arrow A. through the guide tube (1), as shown in the figure below.
8. Unscrew the screw securing the rear wheel speed sensor, remove the sensor and disconnect its wiring harness from the holders.
9. Remove the rear suspension spring (see relevant section in this chapter).
10. Remove the plugs of the service holes in the side members of the bottom of the body. Pull the tape through these holes.
11. Fix, using mounting tapes, the car on the lift supports on both sides, as shown in the figure below.
Attention. If the vehicle is not secured to the lift jacks, the entire vehicle may roll over after the rear suspension beam is detached.
12. Detach the retainer (arrow B) and release the hydraulic brake hose (arrow A) from the mounting bracket as shown in the figure below.
13. Release the brake hose (1) from the mounting bracket as shown in the figure below.
14. Detach the retainer (arrow B), then release the right brake pipe (arrow A), as shown in the figure below.
15. Remove the right brake hose (1) from the mounting bracket as shown in the figure below.
16. Substitute a special hydraulic jack with support under the rear suspension beam. Put a wooden block on a support (A), as shown in the figure below.
17. Support the rear suspension beam with a hydraulic jack.
18. Fix the rear suspension beam with mounting tapes on the hydraulic jack support.
19. Unscrew the bolts securing the rear suspension beam to the support brackets on the body (arrows), as shown in the figure below.
Note. An assistant is required to perform this operation.
20. Loosen the mounting bolt nuts (1) rear suspension beams as shown in the figure below.
21. Unscrew the bolts securing the right support of the rear suspension beam to the car body (2), as shown in the figure below.
Note. Before removing the bolts of the right support of the rear suspension beam, it is necessary to note the location of this support on the car body.
22. Unscrew the fastening bolt (1) rear suspension beams to the left support on the car body, as shown in the figure below.
23. Carefully lower the special hydraulic jack together with the rear suspension beam so as not to damage the hydraulic brake lines.
24. To take a bolt of fastening of the right support to a beam of a back suspension bracket.
25. Remove the support from the rear suspension beam.
26. Completely remove the rear suspension beam assembly.
Installation
1. Installation is made in reverse order to removal.
Before installing the rear suspension beam, apply a special lubricant to the working surfaces of the silent block.
Install the rear suspension beam support bracket onto the beam eyelet.
Install new mounting bolts (1) rear suspension beams to supports on the inside of the car.
Carefully raise the rear suspension beam and bring it to the body so that the holes in the silent block of the rear beam and its support coincide.
Check and make sure that the right support of the rear suspension beam is installed according to the marks applied to the body during dismantling.
Install and tighten new mounting bolts (2) the right support of the rear suspension beam to the body, as shown in the figure below. Tighten the mounting bolts to the required tightening torque.
Install a new rear suspension beam mounting bolt to the vehicle body on the left side.
Screw new fastening nuts onto the bolts of the rear beam to the supports. Do not tighten fastening nuts!
Install the shock absorber mounting bolts to the rear suspension beam. Do not tighten the shock absorber bolts!
Install rear suspension springs (see relevant section in this chapter).
load rear suspension (in accordance with the car on the surface). Tighten with the required tightening torque the bolts of the rear suspension beam to the supports on the body, the bolts of the rear shock absorbers to the beam.
Install and secure the parking brake cables.
Connect brake hoses.
Install new brake hose and pipe clamps.
Remove the special tool for holding the brake pedal depressed.
Bleed hydraulic brake system.
Install the parking brake cable.
Install the rear wheel speed sensor.
Install the rear wheels, then tighten the rear wheel bolts.
Install armrest (see the relevant section in chapter Body).
Perform a road test of the vehicle.
