Note: It is not recommended for a motorist to perform this work, as the adjustment of the rear wheel position will be violated, and this cannot be restored without special tools. If the brackets have been disturbed, it is possible to remove them individually, and their previous position can be determined by the axis and the marks made before removal. If this method is used, place axle stands under the vehicle body, then unscrew one axle pivot and remove the bracket (as described below). Once the first bracket is in place, repeat the procedure on the other end of the axle.
Removing
1. Remove the torsion beam axle (Chapter 11).
2. Before unscrewing the bracket, mark its position on the bottom with a hard pencil or marker (outline the bracket as accurately as possible) (see photo).
Installation
3. When installing, align the bracket exactly with the marks made before removal, then tighten the mounting bolts with the tightening torque specified specifications.
4. Install the torsion beam axle (Chapter 11).
5. Have your front and rear wheel alignment checked by a Skoda dealer as soon as possible.
