In addition, the VIN can be found on the vehicle data sticker, which is located on the floor of the luggage compartment, on the left wall of the spare wheel well (see illustration 2a). The same sticker is in the service booklet supplied with the vehicle. The purpose of the sticker fields is shown in Illustration 2b, as well as to the left of the sticker in the service booklet.

Additionally, the VIN is indicated on the identification sticker, which is located at the bottom of the left B-pillar and is visible when the driver's door is open (see illustration 3). The identification plate, in addition to the VIN, contains the engine code, model identification number and various indicators.

The VIN number consists of 17 characters, its decoding is given below in the example:
1-3 Worldwide manufacturer code (XW8 - Russia, Kaluga; TMV - other manufacturers).
4 - Model, drive and steering type (A - Superb II FWD LHD; C - Superb II AWD LHD; J - Superb Combi II FWD LHD; L - Superb Combi II AWD LHD; N - Multi-purpose vehicle M1 FWD LHD; R - Multi-Purpose Vehicle M1 AWD LHD; 1 - vehicle category N1 FWD LHD; 3 - vehicle category N1 AWD LHD).
5 - Engine (A - petrol 1.4 l 92 kW; B - petrol 1.8 l 112/ 118 kW; C - petrol 3.6 l 191 kW; D - diesel 1.9 l 77 kW; E - diesel 2.0 l 103 kW; F - diesel 2.0 l 125 kW; H - petrol 2.0 l 147 kW; J - diesel 1.6 l 77 kW).

11 - Manufacturer (0-4 - Czech Republic, Mlada Boleslav; 5-6, 9 - Czech Republic, Kvasiny; 7-8 - Vrchlabi; A - India, Aurangabad; B - Ukraine, Solomonovo; C - Slovakia, Bratislava; D - Kazakhstan, Ust-Kamenogorsk; E, K - Russia, Kaluga, Grabtsevo; G - India, Pune; S - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo; U - Czech Republic, for India; X - Poland, Poznan).
12-17 - 6-digit body number. On a body made for repair, the VIN is highlighted on both sides with the symbols "#" instead of "*".
