Note: Auto-dimming rear view mirrors (in electrochromic mirrors) contains liquid electrolyte which, if the mirror is damaged, may leak out and cause irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory system. First of all, this applies to people suffering from asthma or other similar diseases. In this case, it is necessary to provide intensive ventilation with fresh air. If the electrolyte comes into contact with the skin, eyes or respiratory organs, clothes or shoes, wash it with plenty of water (mouth - rinse). If electrolyte gets on plastic trim parts, remove it as soon as possible with a damp sponge or rag.
Attention: The outside rear-view mirrors are curved, which increases the field of view, but objects reflected in the curved parts of the mirrors appear further than they really are. Such mirrors are intended for assessing the traffic situation and should not be used to determine the distance to an object.
The interior rear-view mirror can be rotated manually. To reduce the brightness of the reflected light of the headlights of a car moving behind at night, move the interior mirror dimming control towards you (see illustration 9.6a). When equipped with an interior rear-view mirror with auto-dimming function, this function can be turned on or off using the switch (2 in illustration 9.6b), - the mirror will automatically dim when it hits the sensor (3) bright light, the indicator will light up (1). This function is deactivated automatically when the interior lighting or reverse gear is switched on.
Note: When auto-dimming interior mirror is turned off, exterior mirror dimming is turned off. Do not cover the sensor so as not to impair the correct functioning of the auto-dim function. The mirror works properly only when the rear window blind is retracted. Do not install the display of an external navigation system or DVR on the windshield next to the electrochromic mirror. the illumination of this display may cause the mirror electronics to malfunction.
9.6a Dimming control for a conventional saloon rear-view mirror
9.6b Auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror
The outside rear-view mirrors have a heating function and an electric adjustment drive, and on some models an electric folding drive. The auto-dimming exterior mirrors are switched on and off together with the auto-dimming interior mirror on/off (see paragraph above). Automatic dimming is deactivated when the interior lighting is switched on, as well as when reverse gear is engaged. To control the e / adjustment drive, a handle is installed in the driver's door (16 in illustration 12.1). Down position "0" adjustment is not made, folding mirrors and their heating are switched off. When the handle is turned to the position "R" or "L" it becomes possible to adjust the right or left mirror accordingly. Tilt the adjuster in the appropriate directions to adjust (up/down and left/right). In the event of a malfunction of the electric drive, the mirror can be adjusted simply by gently pressing on the edges of the reflective element.
Through the menu "Settings>Comfort> Mirror settings" instrument cluster display, you can select the algorithm for adjusting the exterior mirrors. To adjust the mirrors individually, select "Separately". If the item is selected "Synchronous", when adjusting the left mirror, the right mirror will move with it; if necessary, then adjust the right mirror by moving the switch to the position "R".
In order to see the curbstone in the right mirror when reversing into the right mirror, you can leave the switch in the position "R", - then when the reverse gear is engaged, the right mirror will tilt down a little. The mirror returns to its original position when the reverse gear is turned off, as well as when driving at a speed of more than 15 km / h.
Description of the memory position of the exterior mirrors is given in subsection "Memory position of the driver's seat and exterior mirrors" higher.
When the switch is turned to the position, the heated exterior mirrors are turned on.
Note: Heating is switched on only when the engine is running and the outside air temperature is not more than 20°C. To save fuel, do not turn on mirror heating when it is not needed.
When the switch is turned to the position, the exterior mirrors are folded by e / drive. The e/drive of folding works only at the switched off ignition, and also at a speed less than 15 km/h. If necessary, with the windows closed, the mirrors can be folded in using the remote control by holding down the lock button for about 2 seconds.
