Before driving, make sure that the exterior and interior rear-view mirrors are correctly adjusted. The driver must have adequate visibility in all three mirrors.
It is possible to switch the interior rear-view mirror to the night position in order to reduce the brightness of the reflected high-beam headlights of the headlights of vehicles following behind. The transfer of the mirror from day to night position and vice versa is carried out using the lever located below. By pulling the lever towards you, the driver switches the mirror to the night position, pushing it away from you, it returns to the day position.
The position of the exterior rearview mirrors is adjusted using a pivot lever located on the interior triangular trim panel of the mirror base. The mirror is adjusted correctly when it reflects part of the side of the car body. When parking the car in a confined space, the outside mirrors can be pressed against the door windows if necessary.
On some models, the exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable. The switch for controlling the functioning of the electric drive is built into the facing of the inner handle of the driver's door (see accompanying illustration). The choice of the mirror to be adjusted is carried out using the buttons L (left) and R (right) (see ibid). In the event of a power failure, the mirrors can be adjusted manually.
Heated exterior mirrors (if such a function is provided) turns on at the same time as the heated rear window is turned on.
Some outside rear-view mirrors have a convex surface, which allows you to increase the field of view, but leads to a certain reduction in the reflected objects. For this reason, it becomes difficult to accurately estimate the distance to the vehicle following behind through such mirrors.
