The driver's door has a single locking status indicator (see section 1).
Engine Immobilizer
Comment. If the key with the immobilizer chip is lost, it is necessary to erase the existing key codes from the immobilizer memory, reprogram the keys and enter new key codes into the immobilizer, these procedures can be performed at a Skoda representative. You can also order new keys there.
Each key has a chip (transponder) immobilizer. Immobilizer (transceiver located in the ignition switch) reads the code of the chip embedded in the key. In this case, the key must be installed in the ignition lock. If the chip code does not match the programmed code, the engine will not be able to start.
The immobilizer is activated immediately after the key is removed from the ignition.
If the immobilizer recognizes the correct key code when the ignition is turned on, it is disabled.
Comment. The reason for the error in recognizing the code of the correct key may be the influence of other keys with an immobilizer chip or other devices located on the same bundle with the car key, try using the key separately.
If the engine fails to start, provided that a good key is used and there is no interference, then the immobilizer is faulty, contact a Skoda representative to check the system.
Anti-theft alarm
The cars in question can be equipped with an anti-theft alarm, which is a means of protecting against the penetration of unauthorized persons into the engine compartment, as well as into the car interior through the doors or the luggage compartment. The anti-theft system includes a siren with an autonomous power source (service life - 6 years). Additionally, sensors for monitoring the volume of the passenger compartment and a vehicle tilt sensor can be installed. Interior monitoring sensors prevent unauthorized persons from entering the vehicle by monitoring any movements that occur inside the vehicle. Tilt sensors activate an alarm when the vehicle is lifted, helping to protect it from being towed or a wheel removed.
Comment. Do not turn on the interior volume sensors if there are people, animals or other moving objects in the cabin.
Activation of the anti-theft alarm occurs when the ignition is off after locking a single lock (see section 1) in two stages: after 15 seconds, the control of the door limit switches is turned on, and after another 15 seconds, the tilt and interior volume sensors are turned on. If one door is open during activation, the control of its limit switch is activated only 5 seconds after closing this door. An activated anti-theft alarm is triggered by any of the following events:
- opening the side door or tailgate without using the remote control;
- opening the hood;
- turning on the ignition without a suitable key;
- voltage drop of the car's on-board network;
- battery disconnection (only the siren works);
- if the included interior volume control sensors have identified any movements in the car;
- if the activated vehicle inclination sensor has detected the lifting or towing of the vehicle;
- disconnecting the trailer connected to the standard socket.
When the anti-theft alarm is triggered, the siren turns on (for 30 seconds) and hazard warning lights (for 5 minutes). Any further attempts to start the listed actions will result in the alarm being triggered again. A siren with a built-in autonomous power source is used to give an audible alarm. The service life of the siren is approximately 6 years.
Deactivation or deactivation of the anti-theft alarm occurs when a single lock is unlocked from the remote control or when the ignition is turned on (if a single lock was unlocked with a metal key). The alarm will reactivate if the driver's door is unlocked with a metal key within 45 seconds of locking the vehicle. In this case, after opening the driver's door, turn on the ignition within 15 seconds, otherwise the alarm will work.
Through the menu "Settings>Comfort> Signal confirmation" you can turn on or off the sound signal to confirm the successful activation of the anti-theft alarm.
In some cases, the interior volume control sensors and the vehicle tilt sensor should be disabled to prevent false alarms from the anti-theft system. For example, this may be required if there are people, pets or moving objects in the car (e.g. sheets of paper, pendants on a mirror, a vibrating mobile phone), the door windows are left down, the upper hatch is left ajar, the eyeglass case in the overhead console is open when the car is transported by ferry, tow truck or by rail, when the trailer is connected / disconnected from the armed car.
To activate the anti-theft system without turning on the sensors, remove the key from the ignition and open the driver's door, the red key illumination should turn on (see illustration 6.1), located to the left of the driver's seat. Press the indicated key (red light should change to orange) and lock the car within 30 seconds. If the specified actions are not performed the next time the anti-theft system is activated, the sensors will be automatically turned on.
