Anti-theft system (Skoda Superb B6)

The standard anti-theft system includes an engine immobilizer and (with appropriate equipment) anti-theft alarm.

The driver's door has a single lock status indicator (see Section 1).

Engine immobilizer

Note: If you lose the key with the immobilizer chip, you should erase the codes of the existing keys from the immobilizer memory, reprogram the keys and enter new key codes into the immobilizer. These procedures can be performed by a Skoda representative. You can also order new keys there.

Each key has a chip (transponder) immobilizer. Immobilizer (transceiver located in the ignition switch) reads the code of the chip built into the key. The key must be inserted into the ignition switch. If the chip code does not match the programmed code, the engine will not start.

The immobilizer is activated immediately after the key is removed from the ignition switch.

If the immobilizer recognizes the correct key code when the ignition is turned on, it is deactivated.

Note: The error in recognizing the correct key code may be caused by the influence of other keys with an immobilizer chip or other devices located on the same keychain with the car key, try using the key separately.

If the engine fails to start with a working key and no interference, the immobiliser is faulty and contact a Skoda representative to have the system checked.

Anti-theft alarm

The vehicles in question can be equipped with an anti-theft alarm system, which is a means of protection against unauthorized persons entering the engine compartment, as well as the car interior through the doors or luggage compartment. The anti-theft system includes a siren with an autonomous power source (service life - 6 years). Additionally, sensors for monitoring the interior volume and a vehicle tilt sensor can be installed. Interior monitoring sensors prevent unauthorized persons from entering the car by monitoring any movements occurring inside the car. Tilt sensors turn on the alarm when the car is lifted, helping to protect it from towing or wheel removal.

Note: Do not activate the interior volume control sensors if there are people, animals or other moving objects in the interior.

The anti-theft alarm is activated when the ignition is turned off after the main lock is locked (see section 1) in two stages: after 15 seconds, the door limit switches are monitored, and after another 15 seconds, the tilt and interior volume sensors are switched on. If one door is open when activated, its limit switch monitoring is switched on only 5 seconds after that door is closed. The activated anti-theft alarm is triggered by any of the following events:

• opening a side door or a tailgate without using the remote control;
• opening the hood;
• turning on the ignition without the correct key;
• drop in vehicle electrical system voltage;
• disconnecting the battery (only the siren goes off);
• if the switched on sensors for monitoring the interior volume have detected any movements in the vehicle;
• if the vehicle tilt sensor is enabled and detects that the vehicle is being lifted or towed;
• disconnecting a trailer connected to a standard socket.

When the anti-theft alarm is triggered, the siren is activated (for 30 seconds) and emergency light signaling (for 5 minutes). Any further attempts to start the above actions will result in the alarm being triggered again. A siren with a built-in autonomous power source is used to generate an audible alarm. The service life of the siren is approximately 6 years.

Deactivation or disabling of the anti-theft alarm occurs when the single lock is unlocked using the remote control or when the ignition is turned on (if the single lock was opened with a metal key). The alarm will be reactivated if the driver's door is unlocked with a metal key within 45 seconds of locking the car. However, after opening the driver's door, the ignition must be turned on within 15 seconds, otherwise the alarm will be activated.



Using the menu "Settings→Comfort→Confirm.signal" you can enable or disable the sound signal to confirm successful activation of the anti-theft alarm.

In some cases, the interior volume control sensors and the vehicle tilt sensor should be disabled to prevent false alarms from the anti-theft system. For example, this may be necessary if there are people, pets or moving objects left in the car (for example, sheets of paper, hanging on a mirror, a vibrating mobile phone), the door windows are left down, the sunroof is left slightly open, the glasses holder in the overhead console is open, when the vehicle is being transported by ferry, tow truck or rail, when a trailer is connected/disconnected from a vehicle with the alarm system enabled.

To activate the anti-theft system without turning on the sensors, remove the key from the ignition and open the driver's door, the red backlight of the key should turn on (see illustration 6.1), located to the left of the driver's seat. Press the indicated key (the red backlight should change to orange) and lock the car within 30 seconds. If the above steps are not taken the next time the anti-theft system is activated, the sensors will be automatically turned on.
