Several types of drive units in different engine and gearbox combinations are installed on Skoda Octavia vehicles. Depending on the requirements, the following types of drive units can be used:
- 1.6-55 kW engine with manual transmission CZE (02K);
- engine 1.6-74 kW;
- 1.8-92 kW engine with either a CZM (02J) manual transmission or
- automatic DLR;
- 1.9 TDI–66 kW engine with CZL (02J) manual transmission.
As production continues to develop, the range of engines and gearboxes will be expanded with new types.
The specified drive units form a single unit located in the engine compartment in the front part of the body. The placement is transverse in relation to the longitudinal axis of the car. The drive unit sets the front wheels of the car in motion using cardan drive shafts.
