The "Injection Quantity Correction (IMA)" function is designed to individually adjust the amount of fuel injected by the Common Rail system into each cylinder within the control range. 7-digit adaptation codes are applied to each injector.

The applied code may consist of letters and/or numbers.

1. Adaptation code (checksum; the data in the figure is for example only)
2. Two-dimensional matrix barcode
3. Part number

After replacing the injector, the adaptation code must be written into the engine control unit. When replacing the engine control unit, the "injector adaptation codes" must be transferred to the new control unit. Additionally, check all injectors with respect to "injection quantity correction (IMA)" to ensure that all adaptation data has been entered correctly. If the correct correction values are written into the engine control unit, they must not be re-entered. The adaptation process is described in the "Guided Fault Finding" mode. (The procedure is also described in the "Guided Functions".)
