If the temperature gauge shows overheating, there is a significant loss of power, or you hear strong knocking or ringing noises, the engine is probably overheated. If these signs appear, follow the following procedure:

1. Turn on the hazard warning lights and move the vehicle to the side of the road. Stop the vehicle, place the manual transmission in neutral or the automatic transmission in position "P" and apply the parking brake.

2. Refer to the chapter "Daily checks and troubleshooting" to identify the causes of engine overheating.

3. If the cause of engine overheating is so serious that it is not possible to eliminate it using the methods suggested in the manual, contact the towing service to deliver the car to a service station.

Attention.
  • Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine or radiator is hot. Boiling coolant and steam may escape under pressure. This could cause serious injury.
  • If the engine constantly overheats, it is necessary to check the cooling system and eliminate the fault at a specialized service station.
