Front side airbag
1. Turn on the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable (see Chapter 5).
2. Remove the front seat back (see Chapter 11) and remove the foam material from the airbag area.
3. Unscrew the bolt (2 in the illustration), disconnect the connector (3) and remove the airbag (1) from the backrest (4).

4. When installing, tighten the bolt to 9 Nm.
Rear side airbag
5. Turn on the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable (see Chapter 5).
6. Remove the rear seat and the side trim of the luggage compartment (see Chapter 11).
7. Pry off the plug (1 in the illustration), remove bolts (2 and 4), disconnect connector (3) and remove airbag (5) from lower C-pillar trim panel.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Use a new washer (7 in illustration 16.7), tighten the bolts to 4.5 Nm.
Inflatable curtain
9. Turn on the ignition and disconnect the negative cable from the battery (see Chapter 5).
10. Remove the ceiling trim (see Chapter 11).
11. Disconnect the connector (3 in the illustration), unscrew the bolt (1), remove the fasteners (4) and remove the inflatable curtain (2).

12. When installing, replace the locking tabs if necessary (4 in illustration 16.11). Tighten the bolt to 6 Nm.
