The steering column is supplied only as an assembly. Repair is not allowed. The ignition switch housing can be replaced. When replacing the steering column, rearrange the steering column switches.
Attention! Before starting work with electrical equipment and removing the steering wheel, the following conditions must be met: Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. The wheels must be installed in the Straight position. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in airbag failure.
Set the wheels to the straight position. Move the steering column adjustment lever down. Lower the steering column down, pull it towards you and lock the adjustment mechanism (lift the lever). Remove the airbag and steering wheel. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers. Remove the switch assembly.
Cars with leg airbags
Remove the leg airbag.
Car with ignition switch housing
Disconnect the "arrow" connector from the immobilizer reading coil "D2". Disconnect the "2" connector from the ignition switch housing "1".

For cars with the "Kessy" keyless entry, locking and engine start system
Disconnect connector "1". Release the wiring harness from the "arrow" piston on the ELV control unit "J764".

Remove the left footwell air duct. Disconnect the wiring harness "1" from the steering column and move it to the side. Disconnect the guide "2" in the "direction of the arrow".

Unscrew nut "1" and pull the floor covering in the "direction of the arrow".

Loosen bolt "1" and remove cardan joint "2" from the steering gear shaft.

Remove bolts "1" and "2". Remove left leg airbag bracket "3" (if available).

Loosen bolts "1" and "2". Remove right leg airbag bracket "3" (if available).

Unscrew screw "1" while holding the steering column -2-.

Remove steering column "1" from mounts "2" and "3" on the central pipe.

Note: Observe the rules for handling the steering column.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Insert steering column "1" into mounts "2" and "3" on the central pipe. Screw in screw "1". Install airbag bracket "3" and screw in screws "1" and -2- by hand. Install airbag bracket "3" and screw in screws "1" and "2" by hand. Tighten the bolts alternately to the specified torque "1", "2", "3" and "4". Install the universal joint "2" onto the steering column splines -against the direction of the arrow-. Tighten the new bolt "1". Secure the floor covering with the nut "1". Secure the wiring harness "1" to the steering column. Install the guide "2" against the -direction of the arrow-. Install the left footwell air duct.
Car with ignition switch housing
Connect the "arrow" connector to the immobilizer reading coil "D2". Connect the "2" connector to the ignition switch housing "1".
For cars with the "Kessy" keyless entry, locking and engine start system
Connect connector "1". Secure the wiring harness to the "arrow" pin on the ELV-J764- control unit.
Cars with leg airbags
Install the leg airbag.

Install the switch assembly. Install the upper and lower steering column covers. Install the airbag and steering wheel. Perform a basic installation of the steering wheel angle sensor "G85".
