Note: If the adaptive cruise control control unit "J428" is replaced, connect the Tester and in the "Guided fault finding" or "Guided functions" mode select the "Replace the corresponding control unit" function.
Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers. Remove the front bumper. Unscrew screws "3" (8 Nm) and remove the control unit "1" with the mounting plate.
If necessary, unlock the clamps "arrow A", tilt the control unit -1-arrow 8- and pull it out from the bracket "3". Disconnect the connector "2".

Installation
Installation in reverse order. Calibrate the adaptive cruise control.
Removal and installation the mounting plate of the adaptive cruise control unit "J428"
Remove the adaptive cruise control unit "J428". Turn the "arrow" to release the clips "2". Remove the clips "2" from the studs "1". Remove the mounting plate "3" from the control unit "4".
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Replace the clamps "2". Press the studs "1" into the clamps until they click. Calibrate the adaptive cruise control.
