Removal and installation middle or rear mufflers (Skoda Octavia 5E)

When replacing the middle or rear mufflers, the rear suspension is not removed. For independent replacement of the middle or rear muffler, a cut is provided on the connecting pipe. The disconnection point is marked on the exhaust pipe with a stamping. Remove the rear left panel of the bottom trim, if present. Remove the rear cross member of the tunnel. Unlock and move the "arrow" coupling forward.



Cut the connecting pipe at the "arrow" separation point at a right angle using a hacksaw.



Unscrew screws "2" and remove the rear muffler "1". Unscrew screw "3" and remove the middle muffler "1".

Installation

Installation in reverse order. When installing, position the coupling in the center relative to the side marks "arrows".

Install the rear clamping sleeve. Install the front clamping sleeve. Align the exhaust system in a cold state so that there is no tension in it.
