Removal
1. Remove the steering column assembly (for more details, see the relevant section in this chapter).
2. Place the steering column on its side on a clean surface.
3. Disconnect the two wiring harness connectors (2) from the power steering electronic control module (1) as shown in the figure below.
4. Using a small screwdriver, release the latches (arrows) and remove the wiring harness connector cover (1) as shown in the figure below.
5. Unscrew the fastening screws (1) shown in the figure below.
6. Loosen the mounting screws (arrow) and carefully detach the electronic power steering control module (1) by pulling it upwards as shown in the figure below.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
When installing the electronic power steering control module, always use new mounting bolts and a new cover for the wiring harness connector.
First of all, it is necessary to tighten all the mounting bolts by hand, and then tighten them to the required tightening torque.
Tightening torques for threaded connections
- Mounting bolts, arrow A: 20 Nm.
- Arrow mounting bolts B: 3.6 Nm.
