Removing
1. Remove the steering column assembly (for details, see the relevant section in this chapter).
2. Lay the steering column on its side on a clean surface.
3. Disconnect the connectors of the two wiring harnesses (2) from the power steering electronic control module (1), as shown in the figure below.
4. Using a small screwdriver, unlock the latches (arrows) and remove the wiring harness connector cover (1), as shown in the figure below.
5. Unscrew the fastening screws (1), shown in the figure below.
6. Unscrew the fastening screws (arrow) and carefully remove the electronic module (1) power steering control by pulling it up as shown in the figure below.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
When installing the power steering electronic control module, always use new mounting bolts and a new cover for the wiring harness connector.
First of all, it is necessary to tighten all the fastening bolts by hand, then tighten to the required torque.
Tightening torques for threaded connections
- Mounting bolts, arrow A: 20 Nm.
- Bolts arrow B: 3.6 Nm.
