Engines 1.0 l, 37 kW and 1.4 l, 50 kW
On engines of 1.0 l, 37 kW, NGK BKR 6 ETA-10 candles are used, the gap between the electrodes of which is 0.9–1.1 mm.
On engines of 1.4 l, 50 kW, candles Champion RC 89 PYC are used (gap between electrodes 0.8–0.9 mm) or Brisk DR 15TC (gap 0.75–0.85 mm).
The moment of tightening the spark plugs is 20–30 Nm.
1. Remove the ignition module.
2. Remove spark plugs.
3. Clean out the candles.
4. Examine the candle. If the insulator has cracks, threads or electrodes are damaged, the spark plug must be replaced.
5. Check the gaps between the spark plug electrodes with a feeler gauge. Adjust the clearance if necessary.
6. Screw in the spark plugs in reverse order.
Engines 1.4 l, 55 and 74 kW
On these engines, candles NGK BKUR 6 ET-10 are used, the gap between the electrodes is 1 mm.
The moment of tightening the spark plugs is 20–30 Nm.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «-» battery.
2. Remove the top engine cover.
3. Remove tips with high voltage wires 1 (see fig. Details of the ignition system of engines 1.4 l, 55 and 74 kW) with spark plugs 13.
4. Remove the holder 12 wires.
5. Remove spark plugs.
6. Clean out the candles.
7. Examine the candle. If the insulator has cracks, threads or electrodes are damaged, the spark plug must be replaced.
8. Check the gaps between the spark plug electrodes with a feeler gauge. The gap should be 0.9–1.1 mm. Adjust the clearance if necessary.
9. Screw in the spark plugs in reverse order.
