Shifting in an automatic transmission takes place automatically on the basis of a preliminary selection of the operating mode. The pre-selection is made by a longitudinal movement of the shift lever. The lever is threaded through an elastic casing that closes the groove in the switch console. The pre-selection symbols have been made lighter. The shift lever handle has a caging button on its side. In the parking position, the shift is blocked by an electrical impulse from the general switch on.
The movement of the lever to carry out one selection is transmitted mechanically by an elastic rod in a flexible hose.
