Shifting in an automatic transmission occurs automatically based on the preselection of the operating mode. Preselection is made by longitudinal movement of the shift lever. The lever is inserted through an elastic casing that covers the groove in the shift console. The preselection symbols are made lighter. The shift lever handle has a locking button on the side. In the parking position, shifting is blocked by an electrical impulse from the general switch.
The movement of the lever to make one selection is transmitted mechanically by an elastic rod in a flexible hose.
