Placement of identification marks on the gearbox
There is an identification number on the housing of each gearbox (the placement is indicated by arrows in the two upper figures). It represents both the time the box was made and its type.
For example (gearbox 02J):
- CZM - box code;
- 15 - day;
- 10 - month;
- 6 - year of manufacture (last digit of the year).
The gearbox can be removed from the car separately, which means without dismantling the entire drive unit. However, this work should always be done at a ŠKODA service center, as well as disassembling the gearbox itself.
