Note: If the faulty electric motor is removed with the sunroof closed, it is necessary to remove the glass cover by lowering the ceiling in the area of the screws onto its rear edge. For normal operation of the lift-and-slide sunroof drive, it is necessary to adapt it after removing and installing or replacing the electric motor.
The glass cover is removed. Unscrew the screws "1" and remove the back cover "2". Disconnect the electric motor connector.

Unscrew the screws on the electric motor and remove the electric motor in an upward direction.

Installation
Caution! After replacing the sliding sunroof control unit "J245", coding must be performed in the Guided Functions of the Guided Fault Finding. When removing the electric motor, the locking clip may come off. It must be correctly inserted again.
Before installing the engine, insert the locking bracket into the frame. Install the engine and tighten its mounting screws to the specified tightening torque. Code the sliding sunroof control unit "J245".

Adaptation of the electric motor
Note: To ensure that the sliding/tilting sunroof opens/closes correctly, the electric motor must be adapted after removal and installation or replacement. The adaptation can only be carried out with the glass cover installed. Risk of damage. After replacing the sliding sunroof control unit "J245" / sunroof roller blind control unit "J394", coding and adaptation must be carried out in the Guided Functions of Guided Fault Finding under diagnostic address 19.
