Attention! When working on seat belts, observe the general safety rules for handling the pyrotechnic modules of the airbags, seat belt pretensioners and the battery disconnector. Observe special instructions for pretensioners.
Disconnect battery terminals. Remove B-pillar trim. Remove front seat belt buckle. Remove the front belt guide. Remove screw -1-. Remove guide eyelet -2- with belt webbing.
Attention! An electrostatic charge can cause the belt tensioner to engage unexpectedly. Therefore, before disconnecting the ignition wire and the ground wire, the mechanic must remove the electrostatic charge from himself. To do this, you can, for example, touch the body or the pawl of the door lock with your hand.
Unlock connector with a small screwdriver -arrow-, disconnect connector for igniter 1 of pretensioner -pos. 1-. Unscrew screw -3- and remove inertia coil -2-.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. When removing parts of the seat belts as part of an accident repair, be sure to replace their screws.
Note: Check that the connector is well connected and clicks into place audibly.
Insert the inertia coil with the stopper -1- into the hole -2- -arrow- and tighten the screw.
Connect connector -1- to igniter -arrow a-. Press the lock -2- -arrow B-, in this case the connector is brought to the stop and at the same time is fixed in the igniter.
Carefully! Connect the battery with the ignition on. Unqualified repair of pyrotechnic units (airbags, seat belt pretensioners, etc.) may cause them to operate after the battery is connected. When connecting the battery, no one should be in the passenger compartment.
