Bringing the rear suspension to the shock absorber rebound position corresponding to the curb weight
Note: The bolts of the suspension parts with silent blocks should only be tightened when unloaded (corresponding to the curb weight) — Do not overload the vehicle!
Curb weight of the vehicle
Weight of a ready-to-use vehicle (with fully filled fuel tank, window washer and headlight washer tank, spare wheel and jack (if they are included in the vehicle's equipment), tool kit, without the driver). The spare wheel, tool kit and jack must be in the places provided by the manufacturer. Rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks) have a limited working range of twisting. Therefore, suspension parts with silent blocks should be tightened in a position corresponding to the vehicle's unladen weight. Otherwise, internal stresses will arise in the silent block, which will lead to a reduction in the service life of this part. The working position of the suspension can be simulated on a lift by raising the suspension with a jack for engines and transmission units, such as "VAG 1383A", and a support "T10149". Before starting work, measure, for example, with a tape measure, the dimension "a" from the center of the wheel hub to the lower edge of the wing.

It is important to perform this measurement on an unloaded vehicle (in a loaded state), standing on the floor. Record the obtained value. It will be necessary for the final tightening of the bolts and nuts. Before the suspension of the corresponding wheel is raised, the car must be secured with the help of belts "T10038" on the console levers of the lift.

Caution! Otherwise it may slip off the lift.

Remove the wheel. Turn the hub so that one of the holes for the wheel bolt is at the top. Screw the support mount "T10149" with the wheel bolt to the hub. Final tightening of the corresponding bolts should be performed only after reaching the dimension "a" measured before starting work between the center of the wheel hub and the lower edge of the wing. Raise the hub with a jack for engines and transmission units, for example "VAG 1383A", until dimension "a" is reached.

Attention! It is prohibited to raise or lower the car when the engine and transmission jack is under the car. Do not leave the engine and transmission jack "VAG 1333A" under the car longer than necessary.
Tighten the corresponding bolts/nuts to the specified torque. Lower the suspension (hub). Remove the engine and transmission jack "VAG 1383A" from under the car. Remove the support mount "T10149". Remove the belt "T10038".
