Removing and installing a 12 V socket in the luggage compartment
Remove left luggage compartment side trim. Disconnect electrical connector -1-. Loosen nut -5-. Remove socket -2- with cartridge -3- from cover -4-.
Installation in reverse order.
Voltage converter with socket 12V/230V
Note: Before working on the sockets, please read the description of the function, the basic safety instructions and the possible use of the sockets. The housing of the 12V/230V voltage converter contains capacitors that can be charged by residual voltage. There is a danger of an accident due to electric shock. The housing of the voltage converter with 12 V/230 V socket must not be opened under any circumstances. The connector, wires, as well as the 230 V socket are not subject to repair. If a connector, wire, or socket is defective, replace the entire assembly. When using a lever tool, seal the places where the lever tool is inserted with ordinary adhesive tape.
Release trim -2- -arrow- with wedge -3409-. If present, unplug connector from seat heating switches -1-.
Remove screws -1- (1 Nm) and remove trim -2- -arrow-.
Remove retainer -3-. Press retaining lugs -arrows A- and remove socket -1- from bracket -2- -arrow B-.
If necessary, release catches -arrows- and pull socket bracket -2- out of trim -1-.
Unscrew screws -2-, slightly raise voltage converter with socket -1- and pull it out of center console. Unlock and disconnect the connector.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Before installing trim with socket in center console, insert wiring harness into latch -arrow-.
