2. Apply the parking brake. Check that the gearshift lever is in position P. Start the engine.
3. Make sure all electrical equipment is switched off.
4. Remove the automatic ground disconnect relay from the power distribution unit.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the START position.
6. If the voltage is below 9.6 V, check the starter. If the starter is working, check the engine.
7. If the voltage exceeds 9.6V, measure the voltage drop.
8. If the voltage is 12.5V or higher and the starter does not turn, check the solenoid, wiring, connectors, relay, etc.
9. If the voltage is 12.5 V or higher and the starter cranks slowly, measure the voltage drop.
Note: When the engine is cold, the measured values of starter current and battery voltage are higher.
