Removal



1. Disconnect the wire connecting the battery terminal to the ground (body) of the vehicle.

2. Remove the poly V-belt.

Cars with TDI engines with Common Rail injection system

3. Remove the upper engine cover.

4. Remove the fuel filter and set it aside (do not disconnect the hoses).

5. Remove the lower engine cover.

6. Remove the charge air hose and pipe.

Cars with TDI engines with Common Rail injection system and 1.2/1.4 TSI

7. Remove the cooling system fans.

8. Removing the air conditioning compressor (without disconnecting the coolant circulation system), hang it on the side in such a way as not to put excessive stress on the supply hoses.

9. For the 1.2 TSI engine, also remove the guide roller.

10. Blue from the locking nut of the wire B+ (1) safety cap, unscrew the nut.

11. Disconnect the plug connector (2) as shown in the figure below.

12. After unscrewing the lock nut (3.2 Nm) of the wire support bracket (3), put the wire aside.

Installation



1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of actions, and the following instructions must be observed:

Vehicles with end mounted alternator - to facilitate installation, move threaded bushings "A" approximately 3mm "arrows".

Observe the tightening torque for fastening the B+ wire.
