Removing
Note.
- Before replacing the engine control unit -J623-, the identification of the control unit must first be known.
- When replacing, the throttle valve control unit -J338- must be cleaned before fitting the new control unit.
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Press the retaining tabs (arrows), shown in the figure below, remove the engine control unit to the side.
For vehicles with protective cover
3. Use a bodywork saw to cut a slot for a flathead screwdriver in the heads of the breakaway screws.
Note. In order to be able to unscrew the fastening screws with a suitable screwdriver, it is necessary that the slot is wide enough, this is achieved by two cuts with a bodywork saw.
4. Unscrew the fastening screws.
5. Remove the protective cover of the control unit.
For all vehicles
6. Unlock the wiring harness connectors on the engine control unit, disconnect them.
Installation
1. Attach both connectors of the wiring harnesses, fix them.
For vehicles with protective cover
2. Put the cover on the engine control unit, fasten it with new tear-off screws.
For all vehicles
3. Install the control unit in the clamping brackets on the body.
4. If the control unit is replaced, the engine control unit must be initialized.
