Removing
Note
- The ignition must be turned off and the key removed from the ignition.
- The fuel tank can be filled up to a maximum of 3/4.
1. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly (for details, see the relevant section in chapter Body).
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector, remove the fuel supply and return lines from the fuel pump flange.
Attention. The fuel supply line is under pressure. Cover the joint with a clean cloth before disconnecting hose connections. Then release the pressure by carefully disconnecting the connection.
3. Unscrew the fastening union nut with a special wrench for the union nut -MP1-227 (3217) - as shown in the figure below.
4. Remove the fuel pump and O-ring from the fuel tank opening.
Note. If the fuel pump is replaced, empty the old pump before discarding it.
Installation
1. Installation is made in reverse order to removal.
Note.
- When inserting the fuel pump, make sure that the fuel gauge sensor is not bent.
- Before installing, soak the flange sealing ring in fuel.
- Make sure the fuel hoses are connected properly.
- After installing the fuel pump, check whether the fuel supply and return lines and the air bleed pipe are fixed to the fuel tank.
