2.1 Bonnet Lock Holder Installation Details

Note: The bonnet lock holder should be installed in the service position to facilitate access to the front of the engine compartment.
2. Remove the front bumper cover (see Section 4).
3. Remove the sound insulation under the engine compartment (see Section 6).
4. Remove the air intake.
5. Remove the headlights (see Chapter 12). If available, disconnect the headlight washer fluid supply hose.
6. Disconnect the hood lock drive cable from the hood lock holder (see Section 7).
7. Remove the front bumper beam.
8. Remove the front bolts (1 on the accompanying illustration) and screw in the bolts (2) M10x120 one by one instead.
2.8 Front bonnet lock holder bolts
9. Remove the top bolts (2 on the accompanying illustration), pull the bonnet lock holder (1) forward approximately 100 mm and secure it with bolts (5) M10x120 and bushings (4) T30010.
2.9 Upper bonnet lock holder bolts
10. Return to the normal position in the reverse order. Tighten the front bolts with a force of 30 Nm, and the upper ones with a force of 9 Nm. Finally, check the headlight adjustment (see Chapter 12).
Removal and installation the hood lock holder
11. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
12. Remove the front bumper cover (see Section 4).
13. Remove the bottom part (3 in illustration 2.1) holders and amplifier (2).
14. Remove the front bumper beam (see Chapter 11).
15. Remove the headlights (see Chapter 12).
16. Disconnect the hood lock connector and separate the hood lock drive cable (see Section 7).
17. Remove the air intake.
18. Disconnect the sensor connector (6 in illustration 2.1) frontal impact SRS.
19. Disconnect the hood lock and SRS front impact sensor wiring harness.
20. Remove the bolts (4 and 5 in Illustration 2.1), pull the holder (1) out of the radiator supports (7) and remove it forward.
21. Secure the radiator and condenser assembly in the engine compartment with wire so that the condenser hoses do not kink.
22. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Note: The new bonnet lock holder is supplied without threads for the adjusting segments - they are cut when screwing the individual adjusting segments into the holder. Do not cut the threads with tools.
