Note: Do not allow the bearing to spin freely; rotate it slowly by hand. Failure to do so may result in damage to the bearing race and rollers.
1. Mark the original order and orientation of the bearings.
2. Clean roller, needle and ball bearings in a suitable solvent and dry them by blowing with air.
3. Make sure that the bearings and raceways are free of the following defects:
- Roughness.
- Dents on the rolling surface.
- Pitting corrosion.
4. Make sure that the bearing with the race is not seized and that its race shows no signs of damage.
5. Replace the bearing if any of the defects listed above are detected.
6. If an individual bearing part wears out, the corresponding paired element must be replaced.
7. Make sure there are no burrs on the thrust washers.
8. Replace damaged thrust washers.
9. It is prohibited to grind hardened and precision-fitted surfaces.
