Cross wall of the passenger compartment in assembly (Skoda Octavia 1U)
The skeleton frame of the body has a large opening between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment in the pedal deck, into which a pre-assembled cross wall is installed as a single assembly kit, consisting of: the wall itself, insulation and noise-proofing material, a heater or air conditioner kit with a heater and a combined air distributor for the front of the car and a pedal mechanism kit. This unit is mounted in the body together with another unit - the central pipeline assembly and they are not connected before installation in the body. Since the unit consists of many parts and sub-assemblies, the topic is divided into small sub-chapters. It should also be said that many sub-assemblies are supplied as assembly units by different subcontractors, and also that many units and assembly units coincide both completely and partially with the corresponding units used in other cars of the VW Group. Only after the installation of both mentioned units is completed, the installation of the following parts continues, especially related to the instrument panel.
