The windshield wiper system as a mounting unit is attached to the body to the windshield frame with two bolts, and a third bolt to the console on the partition wall (see fig. Installation of a kit consisting of a windshield wiper motor, cam mechanism and support element). The system consists of a support tube on which lies an electric motor with a gearbox, a cam mechanism and a bearing of the windshield wiper shafts. Assembly and disassembly of the unit is very simple.
When switched off, the windshield wiper motor is automatically reset and stopped by briefly connecting to the electrical circuit in the lower position of the brushes. In addition, it is equipped with a fuse that switches off the motor if the brushes are blocked (for example, when they freeze, etc.). The windshield wiper motor has two speeds and, moreover, is equipped with a circuit breaker (located in the fuse panel). A two-speed gearbox with plastic wheels and a worm gear reduces engine speed. The engine is connected to the electrical wiring with a five-pin connector, which is an integral part of the engine. The shafts to which the brushes are attached are threaded through the holes in the cover of the dividing partition freely, without sealing. The brush is mounted on a cone with small grooves. The connection is tightened with an M 8 nut, covered with a protective plastic cover. When installing the brushes, it is necessary to observe their position, specified by the white dots on the black ceramic coating at the bottom of the windshield (see fig. The wiper arms are folded back. The elastic wiper bar is equipped with a rubber profile bar suspended on a balancer so that the bar pressure on the glass is evenly distributed along the entire length. The connection of the arm and the bar is provided by an elastic plastic clamp, so the bar is removable. The driver's side wiper differs from the passenger side wiper.
The wiper blade in front of the driver is 530 mm long and is equipped with a spoiler that increases the blade's contact with the glass at high speeds.
Since the glass in front of the passenger is rounded, the length of the bar is 475 mm.
All plastic and metal parts of the brushes are black. The durability of rubber brushes is almost 150 hours of operation. They are resistant to all tested antifreezes intended for washing glass (with methanol content up to 50%).
