The wiper system as a mounting unit is attached in the body to the frame of the windshield with two bolts, and with a third bolt to the console on the dividing wall (see fig. Installation of a kit consisting of a wiper motor, cam mechanism and support element). The system consists of a carrier tube, on which lies an electric motor with a gearbox, a cam mechanism and a wiper shaft bearing. Assembly and disassembly of the assembly is very simple.
When switched off, the wiper motor is automatically set to its original position and stops by connecting briefly to the electrical circuit in the lower position of the brushes. In addition, it is equipped with a fuse that turns off the motor in case of blocking of the brushes (for example, when they freeze, etc.). The windshield wiper motor is two-speed and, moreover, equipped with a breaker (located in the fuse panel). A two-speed gearbox with plastic wheels and a worm gear reduces engine speed. The motor is connected to the electrical wiring with a five-pole connector, which is an integral part of the motor. The shafts to which the brushes are attached are threaded through the holes in the cover of the separating partition freely, without sealing. The brush is mounted on a cone with small grooves. The connection is tightened with an M 8 nut covered with a protective plastic cap. When mounting the brushes, it is necessary to observe their position, given by white dots on the black ceramic coating at the bottom of the windshield (see fig. Installation of brushes and their installation according to the marks on the windshield).
The brush leads recline. The elastic bar of the brush is equipped with a rubber profile bar suspended on a balancer in such a way that the pressing of the bar to the glass is evenly distributed along the entire length. The connection of the leash and the bar is provided with an elastic plastic clip, so the bar is removable. The brush on the driver's side is different from the brush on the passenger's side.
The brush in front of the driver has a length of 530 mm and is equipped with a spoiler that increases the pressure of the brush against the glass at high speeds.
Since the glass is rounded in front of the passenger, the length of the bar is 475 mm.
All plastic and metal parts of the brushes are black. The durability of the rubber brushes is almost 150 hours of operation. They are resistant to all proven glass washer antifreezes (with methanol content up to 50%).
