General description, recognition and indication of faults
There are two options for fog lights (except Octavia RS) with the following functions: fog lights; fog lights with static adaptive lighting function (corner lighting function) and two design options (black or silver frame). Octavia RS - with functions: fog lights - both bulbs on; fog lights and adaptive lighting - as adaptive lighting, only the lamp at the outer edge lights up. The task of fog lights with the "Corner" function is to better illuminate the surrounding area when turning, parking, etc.; the function is controlled by the on-board power supply control unit "J519".
Fault recognition and indication
The on-board power supply control unit "J519" is equipped with self-diagnosis, which facilitates troubleshooting. To check and troubleshoot fog lights with the "Corner" function, use the "Guided Fault Finding" function of the Tester.
Removal and installation fog lights
Removal (except Octavia RS)
Insert a hook, e.g. for removing a decorative wheel cap (on-board instrument) into the hole in the grille -upper arrow-, sequentially release grille "1" from the clamps and remove it.

Unscrew screws "1" (1.5 Nm)
Caution: When using a pry tool, cover the areas where the pry tool is inserted with regular tape.
Using a screwdriver, unlock the "arrow A" lock and remove the "arrow B" fog lamp. Disconnect the connector.

Removal — Octavia RS
Left headlight - remove the front bumper. Right headlight - cars with independent heater - remove the front bumper, without independent heater - remove the right front mudguard. Unscrew the screws "arrows". Disconnect connectors "2" and remove headlight "1".

Installation in reverse order.
Replacing the fog light bulb
Warning! H8 and H16 incandescent lamps are under pressure and may crack when replaced - risk of injury! Wear gloves and safety glasses when replacing lamps. Do not touch the glass bulb when installing the incandescent lamp. Your fingers may leave traces of grease on the bulb, which evaporate when the incandescent lamp is turned on and cause the bulb to become cloudy.
Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.
All cars except Octavia RS
Remove the fog light with the faulty bulb.
Octavia RS
Left headlight - remove the front bumper. Right headlight - remove the right front mudguard. Using a small screwdriver, carefully unlock the lock "arrow A" and remove the diffuser "1" "arrow B".

All cars
Turn the lamp holder in the direction of the arrow and remove it.

Replacing a burnt-out bulb: all cars except Octavia RS - H8 bulb, Octavia RS - H16 bulb. Installation in reverse order.
