Removing
1. Remove the front wheel.
Note.
- Mark when removing those friction linings (internal, external), to be reused. They must be re-mounted in the same place, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven.
- When replacing friction linings, do not disconnect the brake hose from the disc brake caliper.
2. Disconnect the brake pad wear indicator connector (if the car is equipped with it).
3. Remove plugs (1), shown in the figure below.
4. Unscrew both guide bolts (arrows) from the disc brake caliper as shown in the figure below.
5. Remove the disc brake caliper (1), suspend it with a wire in such a way that it does not exert any load on the brake hose with its weight.
6. Remove friction linings (2) And (3) from the disc brake caliper as shown in the figure below.
Installation
Note.
- Before proceeding to press fit the piston, the brake fluid must be bled from the expansion tank using a bleeder.
- Use only alcohol to clean the disc brake caliper housing.
1. Clean the disc brake caliper.
2. Push in the piston using the piston setting tool (MP9-403), as shown in the figure below.
3. Install the inner friction lining (piston side) (1) and external friction lining (2) spring into the disc brake caliper as shown in the figure below.
Internal friction lining (piston side) with large 3-arm clamp (1).
External friction pad with small 3-arm clamp (2) (painted black).
Note. Do not frighten the internal and external friction linings. Guide labeling.
4. Install the friction pad with black clip and three tabs into the caliper housing of the disc wheel brake mechanism.
5. Install the disc wheel brake caliper at the bottom first.
6. Install the disc wheel brake caliper with friction linings on the wheel bearing cap. Pin of a support of the disk wheel brake mechanism (arrow) should be behind the wheel bearing cap guide as shown in the figure below.
7. Screw on the disc brake caliper with both guide bolts (arrow) onto the wheel bearing cap as shown in the figure below.
8. Connect the connector of the signaling device for the maximum permissible wear of the brake linings (if the car is equipped with it).
9. Install the guide pin covers.
10. Install the wheel.
Note. After any replacement of the friction linings, it is necessary to press the brake pedal in place of the standing car so that the friction linings are installed in the working position.
