Removing
Note. If the pads are not replaced, it is necessary to note their relative position.
1. Remove the front wheels.
2. Using a screwdriver like a lever, remove the friction lining retaining spring from the disc wheel brake caliper body and remove it as shown in the figure below.
3. Remove the caps indicated by the arrows in the figure.
4. Having released both guide pins indicated by arrows, remove them from the disc wheel brake caliper.
5. Remove the disc wheel brake caliper, suspend it with a wire so that it does not exert any load on the brake hose with its weight and, thus, does not harm it.
6. Remove the friction linings from the disc wheel brake caliper or shield (caliper) brake mechanism.
7. Clean the body of the disc brake caliper, especially the surfaces to which the friction linings will be glued, must be free of adhesive and grease residues.
Attention. Use only alcohol to clean the disc brake caliper.
Installation
Note. Before pressing the piston with the piston pressing tool, it is necessary to suck out the brake fluid from the reservoir of the hydraulic brake actuator.
1. Push in the piston using the piston setting tool (Т10145) (1), as shown in the figure below.
2. Remove the protective film from the back surface of the outer friction lining.
3. Slide the outer friction pad onto the disc brake caliper support.
4. Install the inner friction lining together with the retaining spring into the disc wheel brake caliper (piston).
Note. When installing the disc brake caliper, make sure that the friction lining does not stick to the disc brake caliper before the correct assembly position is reached.
Attention. Do not damage the adhesive surface.
5. Install the disc brake caliper with both guide pins on the caliper support.
6. Put on both caps.
7. Install the retaining spring into the disc wheel brake caliper housing.
8. Connect the plug connectors of the brake lining wear indicator.
9. Install wheels.
Note.
- After any replacement of the friction linings, you must press the brake pedal so that the friction linings fall into their working position.
- After replacing the friction linings Check the brake fluid level.
