Replacing Front Brake Pads — Installation Instructions (Skoda Octavia 5E)

When replacing brake pads, consider the following: check the protective cover of the brake caliper piston. If damaged, replace the protective cover. When replacing the cuff: check the working surfaces of the brake cylinder piston and brake caliper for contamination (oxidation). Thoroughly clean the piston and brake caliper in case of contamination and replace the sealing cuff. Check the brake cylinder piston and brake caliper (corrosion, scratches on the cylinder surface), if damaged, replace the entire brake caliper. When pressing the brake caliper piston back to its original position: check how easily the piston is pressed back into the brake caliper. If the piston is difficult to press back into the brake caliper: check the brake cylinder piston and brake caliper and clean, replace the sealing cuff and protective cover. If damaged, replace the entire brake caliper.
