Disassembly
1. Press the piston out of the disc wheel brake caliper with compressed air.
Note. Insert a piece of wood into the hole to prevent damage to the piston.
2. Retract the cuff with a plastic wedge (3409) from the disc wheel brake caliper.
3. Remove the O-ring using a plastic wedge (3409).
Note. During extraction, take care not to damage the cylinder mirror.
4. Clean the piston and O-ring with alcohol and dry them.
Note. Apply a light coat of grease containing lithium before proceeding with installation (G 052 150 A2) on the piston and sealing ring.
5. Insert the O-ring into the disc wheel brake caliper.
6. Put on the cuff (A) for mounting tool (Т10146/6) (1).
7. Press on the protective sleeve using the assembly tool (1) and a device for pressing the pistons of the brake cylinders (2), onto the disc brake caliper so that it rests on the entire circumference of the disc brake caliper.
Note. Check that the cuff is installed correctly.
Attention. It is impossible to be able to pull the cuff by hand from the disc wheel brake caliper.
8. Press the piston on the cuff, lock it using a plastic wedge (2), in this position.
9. Inflate the cuff (no more than 0.3 MPa) (1) In this case, the cuff will be installed on the piston.
10. Press the piston into the disc wheel brake caliper using a special tool (1).
Note. The outer sealing lip of the collar will then lock into place in the piston groove.
