Oil pressure check
1. Remove the oil pressure drop switch, install (V.A.G 1342).
2. Install the oil pressure drop switch in (V.A.G 1342).
3. Start the engine (engine oil temperature - at least 80°C).
- oil pressure at idling speed: minimum 0.08 MPa (0.8 bar);
- oil pressure at 2000 rpm: minimum 0.2 MPa 2 bar);
- it is impossible that at a higher speed the oil pressure exceeds 0.6 MPa (6 bar) - for an engine with a volume of 1.2 l and 0.7 MPa (7 bar) — for petrol engines of 1.4 l and 1.6 l and diesel engines.
4. If the required value is not reached:
For petrol engines:
- eliminate mechanical damage, such as damage to a support;
- replace the oil pump with relief valve.
For diesel engines:
- replace oil pump.
5. If the required value is exceeded:
For petrol engines:
- check lubrication channels;
- if necessary, replace the oil pump with safety valve.
For diesel engines:
- replace oil filter holder.
Operation of dynamic low oil pressure warning device
1. If there is no pressure, the hydraulic oil pressure drop switch is open, and closes when the pressure rises.
2. The oil pressure warning alarm will activate approximately 10 seconds after the ignition is turned on.
3. The warning alarm for an emergency drop in oil pressure turns on with a delay of about 3 seconds.
4. The warning signaling of an emergency drop in oil pressure turns off with a delay of about 5 seconds.
Checking the emergency pressure drop indicator
After switching on the ignition and with the engine stopped, the emergency oil pressure drop indicator in the instrument panel should light up for 3 seconds, and then go out again. The test is terminated if the engine is running.
