Windows

Caution: Do not interfere with the closing of windows, as this may result in injury.

Note: When using the electric window lifter for a long time, it may automatically turn off for a while to prevent overheating.

The car is equipped as standard with electric window lifts on all doors with automatic window opening/closing function, anti-pinch function and comfortable opening/closing function.

The windows can be lowered and raised using the remote control or the key of the single lock, using the convenient opening/closing function (see below).

Switches are used to control the electric window lifters: individual switches located on the door trim are used on the passenger doors, and a switch panel is installed on the driver's door to control all the windows (see illustrations 5.1a-b). This panel also contains a switch (S) that allows you to lock the window controls located in the rear doors. When the rear windows are locked, an indicator built into the switch comes on. To open or close a door window, respectively, press or pull up the front edge of the corresponding switch and hold it until the glass reaches the desired position.

The window lifters can be operated using the switches when the ignition is on, and for approximately 10 minutes after the ignition is switched off, but only until at least one of the front doors is opened. When the ignition is switched off, the automatic opening/closing function does not work. After a few seconds, the comfort opening/closing mode is activated (see below).

The automatic window opening/closing function allows you to fully open or close the window with one press of the switch. To use this function, press or pull up the corresponding switch to the second detent position and release the switch, the glass will be fully lowered or raised, respectively. To stop the glass movement when using the automatic opening/closing function, press or pull the switch again.

If the battery is disconnected or discharged while the windows are not fully closed, the automatic mode is disabled and must be initialized. To do this, fully close all doors and windows, pull up and hold the corresponding window lifter button for at least a second, then release the button, pull it up again and hold it for about 3 seconds. Initialization can be performed for individual windows (in turn), and simultaneously for all glasses.

The anti-pinch function is designed to prevent serious consequences caused by pinching of body parts by moving glass. If an obstacle is detected in the path of the rising glass, the glass automatically stops raising and the glass lowers a few centimeters. In this case, you should remove the obstacle and try to close the window again. If an obstacle appears again within 10 seconds after the first automatic interruption of the glass raising, the situation is repeated. If an obstacle appears again within 10 seconds after the second automatic interruption of the glass raising while trying to close the window in automatic mode, the glass only stops (does not go down). After this, the anti-pinch function is disabled for the next 10 seconds.

Note: Careless closing of windows may disable the anti-pinch function and result in injury.

The comfort opening/closing function allows you to simultaneously open or close all windows with electric windows. For this function to work, the windows must be in good working order. To open all windows, hold down the unlock button on the key fob (see illustration 1.1) or on the driver's door trim, or hold the key in the driver's door lock turned in the appropriate direction. Convenient opening with the key in the driver's door lock only for 45 seconds after activating or deactivating the anti-theft alarm.

To close all windows, hold down the lock button on the key fob or on the driver's door trim, or hold the key in the driver's door lock turned in the appropriate direction, or hold your finger on the touch-sensitive locking surface of the "KESSY" system.

To stop the glass from moving, release the key or button.

Note: Although the anti-pinch function continues to operate when using the comfort closing function, make sure that there are no obstacles in the way of the window when closing. Via the menu "Settings→Comfort→Window control" you can change various settings for the window lifter control:
  • "Off" - comfortable opening/closing is disabled.
  • "Select all" - comfort opening/closing is enabled for all window lifters.
  • "Driver" - comfortable opening/closing is enabled only for the window lifter in the driver's door.

Upper hatch and its curtain (superb models)

Note: To avoid damage, clear the sunroof and hatch of snow and ice before opening or lifting it in winter. Regularly remove leaves and other foreign objects from the sunroof guides by hand or with a vacuum cleaner.

In a special configuration, the car can be equipped with an electric sliding and lifting sunroof.

The combined switch for operating the sliding panel of the panoramic sunroof and the sunblind is located in the overhead console. The sunroof can be operated with this switch when the ignition is switched on and for approximately 10 minutes after the ignition is switched off, but only as long as at least one of the front doors is not opened. A description of the positions of the combined switch is shown in Illustration 5.2a. When the sunroof is moved back, the sunblind is automatically moved. Before opening the sunroof in winter, any ice should be removed from it to avoid damaging the mechanism.

The anti-pinch function is designed to prevent serious consequences caused by body parts being pinched by the moving sunroof cover. If an obstacle is detected in the path of the closing cover, the sunroof will automatically stop closing and the sunroof will open. In this case, remove the obstacle and try closing the sunroof again. To close the sunroof by overcoming the obstacle, set the switch to the (And in illustration 5.2a) and hold it.

The comfort closing function allows you to close the sunroof from outside the vehicle: hold down the lock button on the key fob, or hold your finger on the touch-sensitive locking surface of the "KESSY" system (see Section 1). To stop the movement of the top hatch cover, release the button.

Note: The sunroof control rotary switch remains in the same position after using the comfort closing function, so the switch position must be reselected before starting the next trip.

Some models have a solar panel built into the sunroof. The voltage generated by this panel is used to operate the climate control fan when the ignition is off. This ensures ventilation of the vehicle even when it is parked.

If the electric drive is faulty or the battery is discharged, the top hatch can be closed/opened manually. To do this, open the glasses case (if available), use a screwdriver to pry up the back of the cover (left side of illustration 5.2b) and fold it down, then insert a 4mm Allen key into the position shown on the right side of Illustration 5.2b and turn it.

The positions of the combined switch are described in Illustration 5.3a. To raise the sunroof, press the ring switch in the recess towards the roof, and to lower the sunroof, pull the switch down and forward. Before opening the sunroof in winter, remove any ice from it to avoid damaging the mechanism.

There are two arrow keys inside the switch, which are used to control the sunshade of the upper hatch. To fully open, briefly press the corresponding key, and to move the sunshade to the desired position, hold the corresponding key down. The movement of the sunshade stops when the key is released.

The anti-pinch function is designed to prevent serious consequences caused by body parts being pinched by the moving sunroof cover. If an obstacle is detected in the path of the closing sunroof, the sunroof will automatically stop closing and open. In this case, remove the obstacle and try closing the sunroof again. To close the sunroof overcoming the obstacle, pull the switch down and hold it.

The comfort opening/closing function allows you to open/close the sunroof from outside the vehicle: hold down the lock/unlock button on the key fob, or keep your hand on the touch-sensitive locking surface of the "KESSY" system (see Section 1). To stop the sunroof cover from moving, release the button. During comfort opening/closing, the sunroof cover opens/closes together with the sunblind.

If the electric drive is faulty or the battery is discharged, the top hatch can be closed/opened manually. To do this, open the glasses case (if available), use a screwdriver to pry up the back of the cover (And in illustration 5.3b) and fold it down and then insert it into the hole (In Illustration 5.3b) 4mm Allen key and rotate it.

To initialize the sunroof drive, pull the ring switch forward and downward by the recess and hold it in this position for about 10 seconds. To initialize the blind, hold down the forward arrow key for about 10 seconds.

Note: If the hatch cover or curtain was not closed tightly when the battery was disconnected/connected, the hatch and/or curtain should be closed in emergency mode (see above) before initialization.

Window blinds

Some trim levels include rear window and rear side window blinds.

The rear window sunshade is located at the bottom of the tailgate. To unroll, pull the sunshade out by the handle (And in illustration 5.4a) and secure it to the magnetic holder (B). To rewind, remove the curtain from the magnetic holders and hold it by the handle so that it slowly and without damage is pulled into the housing in the tailgate.
